The season started fast for the Jaguars, but in the month of December the pace slowed considerably. Jordan has played just two games this month and had another game cancelled due to winter weather.
Jordan 87 Champlin Park 70
Despite having 14 days between games, the Jags picked up an impressive 87-70 win over Class 4A Champlin Park. The first half was back and forth with the score tied at 41 at halftime.
In the second half, Jordan used a 5-0 run to go ahead 46-41, and then extended the lead to 60-49 with 11:07 left in the game. The Jaguars maintained at least a 10-point lead throughout the rest of the game. Jordan led 74-63 with 3:40 to play. As a team, the Jags 1-3-1 defense forced 15 steals which resulted in easy baskets. Jordan was efficient at the free throw line where they shot 87% by converting 33 of 38 attempts.
Morgan Staloch, Savi Borowicz, and Olivia Fynboh combined to score 77 points for the Jags. Morgan Staloch had a game high of 33 points. Savi Borowicz contributed 25 points and 10 assists. Olivia Fynboh had a great overall game with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals.
The Jags are currently 5-2 and will return to action on Friday, January 3 at home against the #1 ranked team in Class 3A, Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Tip-off is at 7:30.
