The Jordan Planning Commission met on March 11, 2025, to review a variance request for a property at 112 Helena Street. The commission unanimously approved a 10-foot reduction to the front yard setback, allowing the home to be built farther from the floodplain. The decision aligns with neighboring properties and reduces the amount of fill needed, a factor supported by the Department of Natural Resources. The property is in a medium-density residential zoning district.
City Planner Sahni Moore reported an increase in permit applications in 2025, marking the highest volume since 2022. New home permits are also on the rise. Looking ahead, the April 8 meeting is expected to include multiple project reviews and a Conditional Use Permit request.
